Celebrating Ramadan during lockdown
Mehar Ahmad is the current President of Seena Incorporated (publishers of AMUST, The Australasian Muslim Times newspaper), co-founder of the Multicultural Eid Festival & Fair MEFF and has for a number of years been president of the Islamic Foundation for Education & Welfare. With a Bachelor of Teaching from University of NSW and a Masters in Information Technology in Education from Sydney University, Mehar has been a teacher and school principal in both Islamic Schools and public sectors. She established a weekend Islamic school for children and has guided and supported new migrant women establishing a career. An accomplished speaker and Toastmaster, in addition to her professional and community activities, she manages an extended family home looking after her children, grandchildren and elderly parents in laws. Mehar was recognised in the Muslim Women Association’s Mosaic of Muslim Women in Australia, 2018 and the NSW Women of the Year Award 2019.
